At Red Rock Elementary, learning took center stage as students explored the exciting connection between science and dance!
Students enjoyed a special assembly with the National Dance Institute New Mexico, bringing movement to life as they connected science concepts with dance skills! We loved seeing how much fun everyone had!
A heartfelt thank-you to the National Dance Institute New Mexico for sharing their talents and making learning an unforgettable experience. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the families who attended and participated in this special event. Your involvement helps make learning meaningful and strengthens the connection between our schools, students, and families!

GMCS Word of the Day! Today's word is "Woman".
Challenge: Think of a woman who has inspired you or helped you grow. What is one thing you appreciate about her?

The future is full of possibilities, and our students deserve to see themselves in every one of them.
Our Career Exploration Fair gave students a meaningful opportunity to discover new career paths, learn from experienced professionals, and envision what their futures can hold. Just as importantly, it was an opportunity to celebrate the success of Indigenous people in our community and around the world, highlighting the knowledge, talent, leadership, and achievements that continue to shape our communities and beyond.
Thank you to every presenter, professional, and participant who took the time to share their career journeys, personal experiences, and expertise with our students. Your willingness to give back, answer questions, and inspire the next generation made this event truly special. By sharing your stories, you helped students see what is possible, recognize the many paths to success, and understand that their dreams fit into every profession. We are grateful for the community members who invest in our students and help them imagine a future filled with opportunity. Thank you for showing our students what success can look like and reminding them that they, too, can make a lasting difference in their communities and the world.

Weather Alert: Tornado Watch
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area. A watch means conditions are favorable for severe weather, and no tornado has been confirmed.
All Gallup-McKinley County Schools are operating on a normal schedule today. Students will not be dismissed early. Families who would like to pick up their children may do so, and we ask that you check in at your child’s school office.
District staff are tracking the forecast and staying in contact with local weather officials. If anything changes, we will post updates here and on our other communication channels right away.
Student and staff safety always comes first. Thank you for your patience and support.

GMCS Word of the Day! Today's word is 'Solar Eclipse'.
A solar eclipse happens when the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, blocking some or all of the Sun’s light for a short time. In Diné culture, this is treated as a sacred time to stay indoors, fast, and rest.
