New desks have arrived in Thoreau High School’s Navajo Language and Culture classes, representing the four sacred directions (Haʼaʼaah, Shádiʼááh, Eʼeʼaah, Náhookǫs), the sacred mountains, and sacred colors—honoring Diné culture and identity in our classrooms. "We absolutely love them!" said one of the teachers as they inspected the new desks. Another Staff member talked about how its important that we continue to support the Diné culture and continue to keep the language and traditions alive. Our wonderful Cultural teacher Angelita Peters is doing an outstanding job with the students here at Thoreau High School . Keep up the awesome work.
