Today, our two Robotics teams from McKinley Academy are hard at work making final adjustments, troubleshooting, and preparing their robots for national-level competition.
Behind every competition run are countless hours of design, building, testing, problem-solving, and teamwork. Watching our students collaborate under pressure, analyze challenges, and make real-time improvements is a reminder that STEM is more than technology—it is perseverance, resilience, and innovation in action.
These students are competing against some of the best teams from across the nation and proudly representing McKinley Academy, Gallup-McKinley County Schools, New Mexico TSA, and our entire community.

What an incredible way to celebrate 50 years of HOSA!
The HOSA International Leadership Conference officially opened with music, lights, and the Parade of Flags representing members from around the world. As a founding state member since 1976, New Mexico proudly joined the celebration of five decades of leadership, service, and healthcare excellence.
Students heard inspiring stories from HOSA leaders, scholarship recipients, distinguished alumni, and industry partners. The highlight of the evening was keynote speaker Chris Norton, whose remarkable journey of overcoming a life-changing football injury inspired thousands of future healthcare professionals to persevere through challenges and pursue their goals.
Following the session, GMCS students had the opportunity to meet Chris Norton and take photos with him. The evening concluded with students returning to their hotels to review, study, and prepare for the competitions ahead.
